There isn't anything really interesting going on with KU and it's the time of year we're sitting around waiting for football season to start. I become contemplative at these times and recently it occurred to me my favorite musicians and vocal artists are . . . how do I say this . . . DEAD. Maybe they were just born that way (apologies to Walt Kelly).

I understand most of my brethren on this board are younger than me and identify with performing artists that are their contemporaries (i.e. NOT dead). I suspect you too, my young friends, will learn your music heroes tend to explore the great beyond before you. My question is if you could produce a Woodstock event comprised only of deceased (i.e. those who are presently in the realm of the great beyond) musicians and vocalists who would you resurrect for this bigger than life (okay, I'll stop with the stupid jokes) event?

I get to go first. I would line up Janis, Jerry, Jimi, John and George. Then I'd have lunch. Then I would have a whole lot of Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel and Paul Butterfield; assuming they're available (okay, I promise that really is the last stupid joke for the evening).

I've shown my age. You guys take it from here.
