A couple thoughts to get this week's thread off and going. When I was talking to DeeIsaac Davis he was getting interest last year when he was at Eastern Arizona. But when he decided to transfer Eastern Arizona didn't put him on their spring recruiting list and didn't help him at all when people asked about him.
During the spring at Highland he didn't get any recruiting attention because nobody knew he was there. But Kane knew about him at Eastern Arizona. Then Kane tracked him down at Highland. I think the KU staff showed some stealth on this one because Davis told me he went to visit KU on a Sunday during the season.
Nobody does unofficials on Sunday during the season. But since Highland is close he was able to drive up. By bringing him on a Sunday the news of his visit stayed down low. They have been watching him for a while.
He's a bright kid. Very well spoken. Not that other recruits aren't it was noticeable with him. He's believed to be a qualifier out of high school so he doesn't have to graduate.
-------
I talked shortly with Shola Ayinde who is technically considered a grayshirt after signing last year. He sat out and didn't report due to a shoulder injury. It was a good move because his clock won't start until next year so he didn't have to waste a redshirt year this season.
Ayinde said he has been training hard and staying in contact with the KU coaches. He said he trains seven days a week and looking forward to getting to KU. He said he will report in late December.
For those that haven't watched his film here it is. He's a tall, rangy corner and I don't know if his game is suited better or safety. But he has good ball skills and is physical.
