I'm not one to get up in arms much over announcers and what not. Having said that I read the ESPN thread below and wondered.
Watched their segment on the WVU game on sportscenter (i rarely watch it anymore for various reasons) and I have to say ESPN appears to have made a conscious decision not to give credence to the streak.
In this morning's very sober segment on the WVU game they both stated and placed on the screen "Kansas has won 7 of last 11 outright Big 12 titles"
They went out of their way to avoid any mention of 11 straight. Even as others in the background mentioned it they would not.
So, be butt hurt about it or not. But it's clear what ESPN's angle is here. It's too bad but it is what it is. There's probably a good reason why I lost interest in their style of coverage and reporting 10 years ago.
