The Dallas Morning News quoted Bowlsby as saying that KU, WVU, and OU had tier 3 revenue of between $7MM to $10MM. When adding that to the core revenue several of the Big 12 teams are close or making more than the SEC teams and that overall Texas makes more than any SEC team in revenues with their $15MM LHN.
Does KU making between $7MM and $10MM sound right? I didn't realize it was quite that much.
"Big 12 officials believe that the payout could reach as high as $44 million per school by the end of the current TV contracts." Also I am curious how this happens? Are their escalators in the contract?
I know the SEC and Big 10 have higher upside, but I believe the Big 12 is actually in pretty good shape.
