First of all I don't think I have ever seen this much energy in practice and I have probably seen more KU practices than anybody since 1998.

I can't explain it in words but it is just very energetic. I even had former players talk about how much energy there is out there.

Saw Lewandowski, Smiley, Fink, Shepherd, Heeney, Stuckey at practice. I can tell they like what they see.

The guy that caught my attention was Rod Coleman. He was playing like a man possessed. Nobody could stay with him. Coleman has always had the talent. Now he needs to put it together.

Personally I thought the OL played well and during head to head against the front four thought the OL might have won.

It isn't football practice until they have to break up a couple fights. During the Oklahoma drill the action got intense.

Right now it clearly looks like Cummings and Cozart are running one and two. I don't know if they gave been doing it for reps but they look to be at the top for sure.

Saw Ryan Willis at practice again. Also Isaiah Simmons was there. Mike McCoy the RB from Topeka was there. Couple other guys I will track down.

I thought Mosby looked good coming off edge. He had a sack and a couple pressures.

Brandon Stewart looked good in coverage. He had a tipped pass and an interception.

The TE spot is going to be just fine with Taylor and Johnson. Several sets Taylor was lined up wide.

The offense isn't recognizable. This is a diverse college offense. They run sweeps, option, pop passes, and all the things you see from creative offenses. They run the one play where the QB can run down the line and has the option to keep it or throw it on the run.

To be quite honest I thought Frank Seurer Jr throws a good ball. He took snaps after Cozart.

The DL looks really good physically when they line up. D.J. Williams is built like an NFL guy right now. They ran him and Bolton inside with Goodman and Olobia on the edge. Mosby backed up Olobia.

Kyron Watson made some nice plays at LB.

Coleman was the first team punt returner.

Chase Harrell had a nice TD catch in 7 on 7 going up over Boateng. Harrell also had a nice play in the scrimmage.

The offense had some very positive plays against the defense today. Much more in video and thoughts later.
