I think we can all agree that the best KU football team of recent vintage was the 2007-2008 team that won the Orange Bowl. (I love you, 1995 team, but Orange Bowl.)
I think that we can probably similarly agree that the best KSU teams of recent vintage were either 1998 or 2012. I am conflicted on which is better between them, and recognize that there were other teams that ended the season ranked higher than those two, but in my mind those are the two best.
If there was a way to have that best KU team compete in a game against either of those best KSU teams, who do you think wins the game and why? Take off your KU hat to answer the question so that you can look at it objectively, but interested in what people think. How do the teams match up? Strength on strength matchups? Do they have anyone who can stop our receivers and Reesing? Does that linebacking crew have a chance against Bishop or Klein?
Interested in thoughts about this. Just a little thought experiment on a bracketbusting Thursday.
