I seen a team.....Ohio.....that came out and dared KU to throw the ball down field and for some reason we were determined to run it or throw it sideline to sideline. I am seeing a lot of bashing of the OL but I don't care who you are you wont be able to run the ball when the box is stacked. They were man for man in the secondary with a double on Quiv. We could have moved the ball all day attacking down field and in the middle of the field.
Defensively, first quarter was terrible.... after that....it was fine. At one point it was 22-0. The defense then gave up 4 fgs....3 in which were created by fumbled punts and a botched snap. They gave us a chance in the final 3 quarters. They obviously have to be good for 4 and have a better game plan but if not for one inexcusable quarter they weren't that bad.
Listen, Rhode Island gave us all hope that Beaty created a miracle. It's going to take time......a long time but we have to be patient. The players, coaches, and everyone else needs support. It is a marathon, not a sprint. There will be winnable games in the Big12 this year if we just improve 1 game at a time.
