I've been a Jayhawk fan since 1968---Jo Jo White's last half season---and no other sport has given me so much fun as Jayhawks basketball. In particular, the Bill Self years have been wonderful, as I have been a big fan of his coaching acumen and style. In particular, I felt like we almost always had a coaching advantage, and no team competed harder.
I must say, however, the is my least favorite Self team. Despite being a very mature team---I believe they have the most experience in all of college basketball---they very often play, IMO, dumb basketball and uninspired basketball. We can all question the roster construction and the minutes allocation, but there is no excuse for playing stupid and lazy basketball. For years, other teams did that and the Jayhawks took advantage of it. But this year, it is us. Coach Self does not seem to be able to reach this group. They are hard to watch.
