That exciting time of the year when the new guys start showing up. Figured a welcome thread would be do, any last thoughts on these guys before they get here?
It's a small class, but I think there is a bunch of quality in this group. I think a good chunk of these guys are going to being playing (and possibly starting) multiple years for us (in addition to the new guys already on campus).
Still got Kyle Mayberry, Maciah Long, Evan Fairs, and Isaiah Bean in my top group. Would throw the blueshirt OL in that group as well. Even though I don't have him in that group, probably should have Ian Peterson as well because I think he plays a lot for us during his time here. Great group of OL that should be ready once the current starters graduate. Really excited to see this group grow throughout the years
One guy after re-watching stuff that is growing on me is Tyriek Starks. Could just be a case of the more you watch him, the more you want to like him, but this kid has a chance. He is athletic, but he definitely isn't an athlete playing QB. He has a strong arm and has nice touch on his throws. Has a little bit of that backyard ball in him with his scrambling and making plays. I really hope we don't rush this kid - I think he will take some time to develop. If he does play early, I think he is a guy that you will have to be patient with as he will make mistakes until he understands the offense and the reads he needs to make. Now I don't think we have to worry about that with guys like Willis, Stanley, and Cozart here...but do think this kid has a chance to surprise us and be a really good player for us.
