The good- for me and all of us was the fight we showed yesterday. Hey, we were down 31-7 and outscored them 31-10 the rest of the way. I really feel two big receptions by their receivers were the difference between winning and losing.
I really was impressed with the offense and Cozart in particular. Save two plays I think Montell was fabulous. I really think this system helps him.
THE BAD- obviously the defense but what worries me most about this next thing is it all falls on the staff... I thought there was some very questionable play calls and time management. The fade to the back of the end zone on 4th down was just an atrocious call. Not kicking a FG at the end of the 1st half didn't make.sense to me (hell get it to a two TD game). The lack of urgency nthe last drive was odd to say the least as well as all the running plays that ate clock. Then, why no onside kickoff? I guess we did get the ball back anyway but I never felt we could stop them enough to have any time.
All in all, I guess I.don't feel as bad as Gill's first game but maybe that is just due to lowered expectations. Thoughts?
