Texas tends to have a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde nature to their offense. The strangest thing to me is that this does not correlate with wins/losses. There are a lot of comparable averages for UT's offense in games they won compared to games they lost, but in both of these categories there is a lot of variability. This makes it pretty hard to find a trend with UT when separating how they did in wins versus losses.

Things like completion percentage, yards per rush, and INTs are comparable in games they won versus games they lost, noting a wide range in these values on an individual game basis.

Some things don't make a lot of sense, like UT tends to run a lower number of plays and fumbles the ball more in games they win compared to games they lose.

About the only thing that makes a little bit of sense to me is that UT tends to average more yards per pass attempt (or completion) in wins than they do losses. So that could be one key to the game, limiting big passing plays.

Because there is a wide range of how UT does on offense on a per game basis, there is some hope that we catch them on a bad day. Cooler temps, road game, and their coach being on a really hot seat maybe could be an indication that they will have a bad day this upcoming week. But without digging a ton into this, there does seem to be a lot of randomness when it comes UTs offense with respect to production in wins versus losses
