Obviously CB and Ochai continue to play great but we've been wanting to see others catch up. If they continue like this they could be the best wing duo we've had in the Self Era.
Dave played much better and not just because he had 14 and 7. It seemed like he passed out of the post quicker and better than he has all year which lead to some open threes including an important one to Jalen to get him going. If he can make quick reads, pick his spots or pass out of the post effectively then he can get back to having an important role on the team. He obviously plays better against teams with more traditional bigs.
If Harris can play like that it really changes how other teams have to guard us. Remy got downhill and found him open in the corner twice and he knocked them down. He got downhill as well and scored or made a solid pass. Harris is starting to emerge as a very likeable player to watch because he does a lot of little things well and doesn't make a lot of mistakes.
Jalen can be an excellent 6th man for us if he keeps moving in the direction he's going. His role might not require him to score as much this year but 7 and 10 with a couple assists from your 6th man is excellent. Said in another thread that his role needs to be Mr Versatility. He's shown some maturation with a more well rounded game and acceptance of a different role this year.
Not sure why Remy sat the last 8 minutes but I liked how he was playing. Maybe Self didn't like the foul he gave up on the big man because he came out and never returned after that. However, like Bahe said, he's really focusing on facilitating and making plays for others and we are a better team with him doing that. Then in the second half he seems to look to score more after everyone else has gotten going and the team is playing balanced. I love his energy and alpha mentality. He's our closer..
Not much to say about the bench guys other than that I'm glad they got PT because I think any of them are capable of filling in and helping. I think Bill will continue to try and find minutes for those guys so we can use them at the right times later in the season.
All in all I'm happy with what I saw and I think we're getting closer on the defensive end too. We will have no problem scoring so the key is how much better we can become defensively. Need to see it against better competition, but I think they're ready..
