-- First, as I mentioned earlier, Zach Clemence told me that he's already looking forward to next year and is ready to start working. He told me that the one area he really plans to focus on is strength. He wants to get stronger and is committed to playing a much bigger role next season.
-- At this point, I'm not really sure what to expect from KJ Adams. I mean, when all is said and done, I'm guessing he will be back in Lawrence next season, but I'm not 100% certain right now. While I didn't think this would ever be the case, it appears that he may have a decision to make in the near future.
-- Joseph Yesufu, much like Clemence, is fired up and already looking forward to next season. After taking a few days off, he told me that he plans to get back in the gym tomorrow and start working on his game and he hopes to improve in several areas. I really feel that it's important to add this. While guys say they plan to return next season, that doesn't always end up being the case. Just something to think about when reading this player updates from today.
-- Truthfully, I don't see Cam Martin going anywhere. I'm under the impression that he's really excited about next year and, from what I was told, transferring to another Division I program isn't an option. And I need to be clear when I say that was never mentioned at all when talking with a few people today. There was a video recently posted of Clemence and Martin working out together with a trainer, I believe, and both seem to be sold on returning to Kansas.
-- If Kyle Cuffe, Jr., ultimately decides to look elsewhere in the near future, I wouldn't be surprised. It's not something that I'm absolutely expecting to happen, but if it does, don't be surprised.
-- I know the staff is very high on Bobby Pettiford and they see him having a bright future in Lawrence.
Again, and I need to be clear about this, what is said at a parade celebrating a national championship might not always end up being the case a few weeks from now. Guys will meet with Coach Self individually and conversations with be had between player and coach. In all honesty, I'm really not sure what KU's roster will look like next season, but that's okay because the season just ended. Guys might transfer out, guys will test the NBA waters and I'm willing to be that Self and his staff will be all over the portal if there is an opportunity to make the 2022-23 team better before the start of next season.
