Its like reading mortuary materials on here so I propose a thread to discuss surprises to the upside. Where can we be better than the current dismal scenarios?
1) OL will surprise the league. Some depth and break out performers with a much simpler offense involving simpler blocking assignments. QBs will have more time to throw.
2) QB. This offense is easier to run with fewer checkoffs. The frosh QBs have the right stuff to run it and we have the right coaches to put it in place. I predict lots of positive surprises here.
3) Recruiting. Maybe no 5* but we start seeing some interest from higher quality players seeing early PT and a solid coaching staff.
4) RBs. We get an RB staff by committee and it turns out to be exactly what we need. There is lots of talent in this group. With a simpler offense and better OL movement we see decent results here.
5) DBs. You all constantly banter on the DBs. Sure we have no experience and not a huge amount of depth but these new guys will surprise us a lot. Much better performance in this group than we fear now.
6) Coaching. We finally have a group we can respect and look to the future.
OK. My rose colored glasses and my choco-covered strawberries helped me pen this. Lets try to have a little positive here rather than the end of world stuff all over Memorial Slant. I can barely stand to even sigh on here now its so depressing. I need a little bit of adrenaline and at least some hope so its your thread now.
