Start off with Jaden Hamm. I made my forecast yesterday that Hamm would make the flip. Well the first step happened this afternoon when he decommitted from Arkansas. I believe that officially sets everything up to open the door to KU.
I had people tell me things like he might try to sneak a last minute visit to Kansas State or trip to South Carolina where the TE from Arkansas left for.
I don't buy any of that. If the staff could land Hamm it would give them one of the the best 1-2 punches locally they have had in a long time.
From the other weekend visitors I think it is going to be a wait and see. First off with the two Minnesota transfers Gage Keys and Austin Booker it could go either way.
The feeling I got talking to people before the visit was Keys was going to commit to Virginia Tech and Booker was going to pick Indiana. Tech had a big lead for Keys. Booker is from Indiana so he would be close to home and family.
Jim Panagos did a great job just to get them on campus. Just what I can pick up on I think Keys is leaning to V-Tech. I think Booker could go either way.
Mason White was on campus and he is set to decide over the next two days. TCU has been thought to be the leader but he hasn't talked or given any hints after the visit. There is some chatter that TCU could be landing some other corners so I'm counting out White.
Courtney Jackson is still a target. The WR from Syracuse was coached by Terrence Samuel two years ago and was still taking visits.
Andre Carter, DE from Western Michigan, is believed to have not taken any visits because he graduated this weekend.
As far as Logan Brantley and Kasen Weisman, both KU commits who visited Colorado it is a waiting game. If I had to pick one I feel the best about retaining it would be Brantley. But that is only a guess.
Remember on the portal players nothing is final and this could be a drawn out process. They will have 2-3 weekends in January to still take visits. They aren't locked in.
From some things I heard I feel very confident Logan Brown will be a Jayhawk despite other schools reaching out to him.
Looking ahead there could be some real challenges. With official visit spots dwindling and if other players rom KU enter the portal there could be more spots open than they have official visits for.
