I would imagine both sides of the aisle on this board agree this guy needs to lose. Not only is he openly racist, he's also an open homophobic bigot. Of all the bad politicians in Congress, I can't think of anyone that holds a candle to him in terms of having POS views.

Have you met Steve West from Missouri?

I love that his kids said he sucks. But he's not a multi-term Congressman. If he wins, King wins, and a number of others on the GOP ticket win, there would be a tough race on who is the worst person based on hateful and/or outdated views.

King's challenger is no joke. He raised a ton of money and is polling very close, within the margin of error. King hardly campaigned and just assumed he'll get voted in like always.

Not saying he won't win, but it will be interesting to look at the results.

Has any Republican called King out?
The RNCC, I believe, called him out and if I remember correctly has refused to provide funds for him (after his most recent comments to the right wing European rag). He's still campaigning with other GOP candidates though.

NRCC Chair called him out over a tweet, yeah.

Last poll had King up by 1 point. His challenger, JD Scholten is doing sort of the Beto O'Rourke playbook. That poll btw, was a lifetime ago in politics before an election (Oct 29) if momentum holds up or even slows a little, Scholten wins.

To put things into perspective, King won by 23 points in 2016.

King just banned the Des Moines Register from getting credentialed to his election night watch party. Called it a leftist paper lolz. It's a traditionally conservative paper but doesn't have an iron-fisted, binary grip on it's politics, it has endorsed democrats before.
