This might surprise some, but KU is actually doing a pretty good job getting sacks - right now KU is tied for 36th in the nation with 2.5 sacks per game. That's pretty dang good.
But on the flip side, KU is worst in the nation pass defense completion percentage, allowing opponents to complete 70.6% of their passes.
Not always a direct correlation and I understand things like when the sacks occurred are important, but I do think there is some truth that a good pass rush helps the guys out in coverage...but the numbers don't really indicate that is the case for KU. I guess one way this could be looked at is that if we didn't have the pass rush we have had, opponents would be completing an even higher percentage of passes...but it is almost like shooting fish in a barrel here even though at times we are getting a good pass rush...
