Beaty liked the way the offense opened up the scrimmage going in a touchdown drive. He said Cozart managed the drive well. They talked about getting off to a fast start.

They went to a break and challenged the defense. The defense stepped up in the second portion of the scrimmage.

On the whole scrimmage Beaty said "we have a long ways to go."

Beaty hasn't seen the separation at quarterback he needs to see. "We'll know when it is right," he said.

Beaty wasn't happy with the energy at Monday's practice.

He said the OL is in good shape along with the DL especially with the tempo part.

They meet as a staff every Monday about each players optimal weight.

Thoughts from Zach Yenser

Liked how the OL started the scrimmage and did a good job of maintaining it through the scrimmage.

He said they pick something out every day to get better.

He talked how some of the NFL like what they see from Larry Mazyck. In the spring he was having trouble with 4-5 play drives and has come a long way.

He said they will fit their offense around their personnel but one thing they will absolutely not change if the tempo. If they can't find the guys to play at that pace they will find new ones.

Yenser said the depth chart (asked about center) could change all season and stay competitive
