I focused on Jalon Daniels some in warm ups and he was moving around pretty good. But when they to some drills with more movement especially side to side he sat a couple out. Like I have said this is all being careful. Work him back slowly and get him ready for fall.

Man, the DE group is pretty thin this spring. I was watching them go through drills. They are going to have to add someone in the portal. The issue is going to be they won't be the only one going in the portal for a DE. That is one of the most sought-after positions.

And my thoughts felt the same after watching the LB group. At least the LB has some guys with potential. I may have caught him on a good day but I thought Cornell Wheeler was moving fast. He looks like he might have lost a little weight. The guy I think can take a step is Logan Brantley. He needs to get a little bigger but he can move. You can see his footwork in drills.

The most ready freshman who reported early is Harry Stewart. The guy is rocked up and built. He doesn't need much help in the weight room. But like I said in my write-up in a perfect world he would redshirt with the backs in front of him.

Watching Grimes, Agpalsa and DK McDonald is a different feel when a new coach comes in. Usually you can see some adjustment time when a new coach takes over. But it is like these guys have moved in without missing a beat. Agpalsa was on Leipold's staff before so there is a comfort there. Obviously Grimes and McDonald have coached their fair-share of football at the P5 level so this is nothing new to them. But I have been impressed with how seamless their transition looks.

I was looking around at special teams. Remember, there is going to be a need for someone to jump up and win that job. That is one concern I have is place-kicking because things have been up and down and there is no proven P5 kicker who has done it over time in a game. But I was told they like the ability of their kickers and that's why they didn't go to the portal.

Saw Christian Thatcher at practice. Keiton Jones was on his way.
