I was in San Antonio this week with my wife who was presenting at a conference and we went to a bar called The Ticket to watch the KU-Baylor game. The game was on one small tv and there were a few KU fans watching the game. One of them was Lake Dallas Football Coach Mike Young (I believe he was in town bc Lake Dallas was playing in the HS basketball state tournament. I spoke with him a little bit about KU football and here are a few things he said:
He is a huge KU fan (originally from Wichita)David Beaty was an amazing hire, all the Texas High School Coaches know and have lots of respect for him.Kenny Perry was a great get for Kansas for the same reasons as mentioned before with Beaty.His Quarterback Dagan Haehn is a huge KU fan and Kansas is his dream school. He told me the Daegan is hoping for an offer and will take it if extended. He said that Likens was in contact with him via email this week, but he didn't know much about him (I filled him in a bit.)He told me that he coached James Franklin the former Missouri QB and said Daegan is a much more talented QB than James Franklin was. He thought Daegan would fit very well into the new Air Raid offense. Finally he said that he has a sophomore (I can't recall the name who is also from a KU family and really wants to play for the Hawks.
