Off Topic Smoked burgers

might be behind the rest of you guys on this but has anyone tried to smoke their burgers? I gave it a shot tonight and it's most definitely happening again at this house.

Got the grill to about 450 and seared each side for about 2 minutes. Moved the patties to the other side so they weren't over the coals. Dropped some pecan chips on the coals and let them smoke for around 25 minutes. At 15 minutes I topped them with bbq sauce. With 5 minutes left I put bacon on top and covered with cheese. Finished off with avocado slices.

Very simple but fantastic results. Certainly will be a tailgate menu item moving forward.
