Well, I stayed off this message board from tip-off until now, and that seems to have been a good decision.
I can see how you could say -- based on the low points for this year's team -- that we have virtually no chance of winning the national championship. Even if Kentucky gets eliminated somewhere, it would be quite a feat for this team to win six straight tournament games.
But we still have a very good chance at wining our 11th straight Big 12 title, and I think we have a shot at getting to the Final Four -- that's mostly dependent on the match-ups we get.
As for the league, the odds remain in our favor. I was surprised this morning when I checked the latest KenPom "projections." (I gave a warning -- those who don't believe in this at all, don't worry about it. And these really are mostly just a reflection of how hard your remaining schedule is -- what games are home/away, etc.)
His computer would still have us winning the league by two games even after last night!

KU 14-4
OU 12-6
ISU 11-7
WVU 10-8
OSU 10-8
BU 10-8
UT 9-9
KSU 7-11
TCU 5-13
TTU 3-15
Of course, this won't all play out exactly as "projected." But we are still in very good shape. And I'd say if we win the Big 12 and get to the Elite 8, this would be a very successful season -- probably all this team was capable of.
I plan to enjoy it.
