LAWRENCE, Kan. – The most historic arena in college sports, Allen Fieldhouse, will celebrate its 70th season beginning in late October, and Kansas Basketball fans will have the opportunity to experience the upgraded venue throughout the 2024-25 campaign.

The Fieldhouse, which underwent a first phase of updates prior to the 2023-24 season, will see the second phase completed prior to this upcoming season, giving fans a reimagined experience through a $50 million project funded by generous Kansas Athletics supporters.

“There is no other venue in sport with more history and energy than Allen Fieldhouse,” said Kansas Director of Athletics Travis Goff. “Going forward, we are incredibly excited for our supporters to couple the building’s tradition with an unrivaled game-day experience. Extensive scrutiny, thoughtfulness, and attention to detail have gone into the renovation plan and we are very confident our fans will enjoy the enhanced amenities and experience, while continuing to appreciate the aura they have always loved about Allen Fieldhouse.”

Concourses on the top two levels of the venue will be completely renovated and overhauled, updating the areas with a more accessible and modernized layout. Allen Fieldhouse will feature a new center-hung videoboard that boasts two under screens that will make it easier for fans at lower levels to see the action and information on the scoreboard. There will also be two corner videoboards added, allowing for more statistical information throughout the game in partnership with ShotTracker’s innovative technology.

Additionally, inside the venue, 1,100 chairback seats will be added on the west side of the Fieldhouse. With the addition of more chairbacks and the corner videoboards, which will replace the upper corner bleacher seating, combined with additional ADA seating, the new capacity at Allen Fieldhouse will be 15,300.

New and enhanced hospitality areas will be showcased throughout Allen Fieldhouse including a significantly renovated and newly named Crimson Club (formerly the donor atrium) with expanded capacity that will now connect directly to the concourse of the venue.

In addition, new food and beverage partner OVG will enhance the experience for all fans including revised food options and an upgraded look and presentation throughout the Fieldhouse. In particular, fans will notice more space and amenities on the third-floor concourse that will significantly upgrade the overall fan experience. OVG will prepare chef inspired new menu offerings in all of the premium areas including The Naismith Room, Banner’s, the Crimson Club and Horejsi Mezzanine space.

Fans and supporters looking to experience the upgraded Allen Fieldhouse can start mapping out their plans for the upcoming season. Season ticket renewals are available starting today through fans online account or by calling the Kansas Athletics Ticket Office. Allen Fieldhouse will go through a reseat process for season ticket holders this year for the first time since 2018 with a deadline of September 6th to renew your tickets and be included in the select-a-seat process. The select-a-seat process begins on September 30, with single-game general admission tickets slated to go on sale October 14.
