Trying to find a bright spot while watching Saturday's game was difficult, but Jeney Jackson has helped to build team speed. We saw Sims run away from everyone the week prior, then this past week it was Herbert with the surprising speed. Our entire secondary is staying in the hip pocket of receivers which only happened with Jacorey and sometimes Dexter previously. We have much more speed on our ST coverage units so it is no longer frightening to see us have to punt or kick to the other team. Hope that we can see team speed continue to develop next year like it has this past year.
The S&C deficiency however is coming in the strength department. Our OL is young in many spots but even our older guys don't have the strength to move the LOS. Johnson is our strongest TE, but I see a LB blow him backwards 3 yards off a snap. We run WR screens but our WRs dont have the strength to maintain a block. Two weeks in a row I have watched a non P-5 team dominate us in the strength department. I assume some of that is seniority, and some of it may be the result of our attention to speed at the cost of strength.
