I didn't get a lot of details but it sounds like there is a lot more running involved with S&C than in the past. I heard this comment "we are still lifting a lot but it feels like I'm on a track scholarship. We are running our ass off."
My guess is a lot of it is based on the uptempo offense and what Beaty wants. When I talked with Je'Ney Jackson he said he meets with coaches and also tailors workouts around some of their requests.
It also probably goes back to some of the things Jackson learned under Chris Dawson and what they did in 2007-2009 when KU changed the offense. I know a lot of Dawson's workouts were geared toward being in better cardio shape with the change in offense.
