It’s obvious you want to be playing your best basketball towards the end of the season. With that being said, matchups will be key.

This team will be the number one overall one seed in the NCAA tournament. That doesn’t guarantee anything but we should be favored in every game. I have my eye on at least four, maybe five teams I really don’t want to see in our region. Marquette, Texas, Connecticut, UCLA. I think all four could be a tough match up. Otherwise, I think we’re set up pretty good.

Now what I would like to see going forward is a healthy Kevin McCullar, and a bench, consisting of Joe Yesefu and Ernest Udeh. I really don’t need to see anyone else. The amount of timeouts in the length of them should serve us well with a shorter bench. I do not need to see Bobby, MJ, or anyone else for that matter.

Next, we’re going to need the best effort out of Gradey Dick, KJ Adams, and Dajuan Harris. Today was borderline embarrassing by all three. I have faith all three will pick up their game.

Lastly, real quick thought on next year’s roster. I know we can go in depth more in the off-season, but it’s evident Wilson, McCullar, and Dick will be moving on. There will be a massive void on the roster outside of Harris. There’s a lot left to be desired. I like KJ and Ernest. I think we will be OK there in the post. Outside of that I’m mortified.

I don’t trust freshman. Especially in the age of the transfer portal. Experience and maturity rule the roost. Even with a loss of scholarship, I’m hoping for some turnover of roster. There needs to be at least two impact transfers. Anything less and I’m concerned. Luckily, we have the best coach in the country and he’s a magician during the spring recruiting period. An impact wing and stretch four is in order. Also, another guard to go with Harris would help. That’s unless one of the freshmen exceeds expectations early on. There’s at least five guys on the returning roster that I think coach will have serious talks with. This is Kansas. The expectations are through the roof. Guys are replaceable.

Now let’s get Kevin and coach back and win another national title
