I know most Jayhawk slant folks like Bilas as he is always complimentary of HCBS and the Kansas program, but I for one am getting really tired of him just hammering officials for calls all game long in every game he does.He has taken on this aura of collage hoops scholar and legal expert whose opinions are given huge reverence because of is pedigree, or delivery or whatever. Just because he is a Dukie and supposedly has a law degree what makes his opinions more important than anybody elses besides the fact he's on espn spouting them constantly.
I am kind of amazed that the NCAA or the conferences or the referees union ( if there is one) don't attempt to put a sock in him. No one else involved, players, coaches, administrators are allowed to openly and pointedly criticise the officiating. I understand freedom of the press, but good grief.
Now we have Ric Barnes siting all over the media " well JAY BILAS said it was a foul so there". Maybe the NCAA should just let Big Jay just overrule any call at any time he disagrees with. And how about him constantly bitching that the Refs are taking way to much time to review a play to get it right? They are never near as smart as him and able to figure things out as quickly as he can.
This is not sour grapes about his call yesterday, he does the same damn criticism every game he does.
It must be nice to be smarter than every single collage basketball official in the world.
