- Todd Reesing and Michael Cummings are the only HS QBs KU has taken in the rivals era that played their senior year of HS ball in TX and were recruited purely as QBs (thus not including Marcus Hereford and Christian Matthews). I think that changes quite a bit starting next year in the 2017 class with all 4 QBs that have been offered being from TX (and 3 other guys from the state I like at that position)
- Something I am interested in following next year and the year after - I think all 3 of Cam Durley, Chris Hughes, and Antione Frazier have higher ceilings than Clyde McCauley and Larry Hughes (whom I think both are quality OL). However, McCauley and Hughes both have the experience edge on them. Even with just a one year head start, will that experience edge be too much for those guys to overcome over the next two years?
- I think the special teams units could take the biggest leap of any of the three units next year by a ways. Some of this will simply be because of guys having another year under them (like Wyman at punter). Some of this will be because of guys coming off redshirt years (like a LaQuvionte Gonzalez). Some of this could be due to incoming guys (I think Jay Griffin could be one helluva punt returner next year). This could be the hidden spot in recruiting that we may not fully realize until next year based on efforts last year and this current recruiting year.
- It's incredible how every recruiting weekend from now to before signing day that isn't a dead period weekend has a home basketball game (essentially a home game today) for recruits. To add onto that, also interesting that the only weekend home game in February is the 27th, so I would imagine that will be when they have the annual junior day event.
