From the beginning on what I know.... I bumped into him at the spring game. He was in attendance. I know he's been looking at KU for a while but I wanted to keep the news down because as I still type this he is a recruitable athlete. There were some schools still looking at him.
What most schools were doing is waiting to recruit him as a mid year recruit for the 2016 class. He was eligible to get out early. From what he said he will be on campus later in summer. My guess is a blue shirt.
He told me he really liked Beaty and Yenser. He spoke with them after the spring game.
Here are some guidelines and I know a school that recently messed up a blue shirt deal (not KU). You have to be very careful. As a blue shirt you MUST be a non recruited athlete. That means there are no official visits and you are only allowed one phone call to the recruit. You can take a visit but nothing can be paid for. Not even a meal. I knew that Gill visited and he told me some good things about the KU staff. Before I ran any story I did a lot of digging to make sure everything I report is on the up and up and done correctly.
