Has your opinion changed any following the Spring Game and recent additions of blue shirts Gonzalez and Roberts to the team? Any new players you like?
So ssuming Gonzalez and Roberts are blue shirts and Durley is a gray shirt, that puts us at around 22 to take in the next class. I see it going down something like this:
QB (1)
Skylar Thompson - still hoping for him even with him getting a new KSU offer. I think he fits in better with what we plan on doing on offense than he would at KSU, no bias of course...but their QBs take a poounding and think he is more of a passer than runner
RB (2)
Darius Anderson - could see him being the headliner of the class and while he does have some impressive offers, ultimately think Beaty's relationship with his HS coach helps us out...his clips...
Mike McCoy - possibly a LB, possible the thunder to the lightning in the RB backfield, either way I think we land him
WR (4)
LaQuvionte Gonzalez - we will get three years out of this future blue shirt
Braylon Royal - speed guy that reminds me of some of those fast Baylor WRs
Bubba Ogbebor - could be a real game changer for us at WR in this offense, want this guy pretty bad
Brandon Benson - another guy that I think would put up some big time yards in this offense
OL (6)
Cam Durley - grayshirt who I feel oddly confident will be a starting tackle for us by 2017 if not next year
Antione Frazier - similar to McCauley, has the toolds just needs to develop and be coached up
Chris Hughes - my favorite OL that we are after, think this kid is a future all Big 12 OT and hope we can land him
Dillon Reinkensmeyer - I think this guy is really underrecruited and has the chance to be a really good OL down the line
Chase Behrndt - I see him more as an inside guy, partially biased because he reminds me of Duane Zlatnik, but could see him on the outside as well - will be a solid D1 OL in a few years
Joe Malanga - athletic freak of an OL at Snow CC that still has to learn how to block, a guy I think would struggle next year but be a solid starter in two years
DE (2)
Rahssan Thornton - a guy from my initial list, not much abotu KU being on him, but he reminds me of Dorance Armstrong that we got in this past class
Malcolm Roach - I think this kid ends up with some big time offers, so not sure we have much of a chance...but I am hoping we do because this kid is a monster
DT (1)
Isaiahh Loudermilk - the recruiting momentum on him is picking up, apparently D1 schools like big bodied kids that can move well for some reason
LB (3)
Marquis Roberts - transfer from USCe will have two years left to play
Isaiah Simmons - maybe a safety, but I think he develops like his brother and becomes a LB
Cameron Goode - big time potential with this kid
S (3)
Desmon Smith - has some corner skills, but at his size probably a safety and a guy that will play sooner than later for us if he comes here
Jaron Bryant - kid has a high football IQ and like Smith think he is seeing a lot of playing time in two years if he comes here
Lamar Anderson - well built kid with some wiggle to him, thinking he might be one of the next guys to commit to us
CB (3)
Nygel King - my favorite CB and favorite defensive guy overall we are on
D'Angelo Ellis - replaced Darious Crawley as starting QB his sophomore year, he has some solid athleticism and great instincts that I think make him a solid CB in the future
Eric Brewington - tall and legit track speed in addition to making plays on the ball regularly, teammate of Denzel Feaster
