Position switches happen every year - what are some that you think happen?

When looking at possible ways to fix the roster situation quicker than expected, the reason for doing this every time is the same - depth. We need to get the roster numbers back up so we start having a normal depth chart consistently year in and year out. So one alternative to getting the numbers up is to strategically position roster such that even with low numbers there is a two deep at all spots. To do so, I think the following could happen...

Jace Sternberger - not really fair to call it a position switch yet with two-a-days not even starting yet and him just getting on campus, but this has been a popular discussion on here - TE or DE for him? I go back and forth, usually siding with TE, but the more I think about it the more I think DE. Not only would it be a good position for him, but it helps the roster tremendously. The way I envision it is move Sternberger to DE, get a guy like Cameron Murray in this class, get a JUCO DT in this class, get another DE in this class, and land Amani Bledsoe and move him inside to DT - this is a very possible scenario and doing so would give not only a solid two deep for next year but the next to 5 years (assuming no injuries).

Safety - while this isn't a specific player, it is a spot we are going to need some depth at in a hurry. We have 5 scholarship safeties on the roster and 4 of them are juniors. We need bodies here pretty bad. The two guys I think of right away that should move to safety are Darious Crawley (who I think could be argued should move to RB) and Emmanuel Moore because of their builds. It might be easier for one (or both) of them to crack the two deep at safety than WR, which sounds a little bit crazy

Defensive Tackle - again not a specific player, and of the three this is probably the most far-fetched, but I am worrying a little bit about Lay'Trion Jones and thus would like to find another young body to play on the DL. Someone that I think is built like a DT is Jayson Rhodes and being that he is a 3X3 guy I think you could let him learn this year and have him in the two deep next year. I also wonder if Aaron Garza could play DT with his strength...
