Check out Tim Brando's thoughts.
If the Big 12 has 14 teams for two seasons, that is going to add some crazy scheduling dynamics to 2+ seasons. Like there will be some teams that don't play each other for a possible 3+ years after this season. I imagine the league will create two 7 team divisions; this could be an entirely different thread/poll itself, considering the non conference games but that may happen right here. (For example, will the teams play 8-4 like the ACC and SEC or 9-3 like the Big 10 for conference-nonconference games)
And I say 3+ years because there is talk about how there could be a 2nd round of realignment, depending on everything. I know that enough of you are banking on being in the Big 10 by 2025, but right now, KU will be in the Big 12 in 2023 and 2024. What happens in 2025 can be discussed after some clarity is pieced together and presented.
If you feel like there is another dynamic that should be included other than geography and rivalries, feel free to post about it. No matter what, here is a rough map of the 14 team conference, for reference.
