As I'm sure we all know, Phog Allen (the "Father of Basketball Coaching" & credited with basketball being added to the Summer Olympics, among many other things) played at KU from 1905 to 1907 for Coach Naismith (the only KU coach with a losing record). Allen coached the team during his final two years on campus (1907–09). He got his first win 114 years ago today by pounding Ottawa worse than the Jayhawks beat the Misery Tiggers on Saturday.
