I am very surprised to see the competition is close. I admit to not being a college level judge of football talent but given the play I saw from Cozart for his first three years I did not expect there would really be any question as to starting QB this fall. My belief was Willis was the guy and that Cozart would move to WR. Perhaps a part of the equation I did not fully consider was the cast of players surrounding Cozart over the last three years . It is no secret that Kansas has had long standing problems with the offensive line and the receiving corps. Given a stronger supporting cast maybe Cozart can play at this level. The young man has been elected as a team captain so the players must have some confidence in his abilities. I guess fans can only wait and see how this competition plays out. Hopefully this is a sign that the offense is better than it has been in the last few years.
