BREAKDOWN
The first thing that jumps out to me when looking at this group is how much bigger we will be this year. At minimum we will look the part, but think these size gains will help us a lot from getting pushed around like we did last year. If I had to guess, I would say at the end of the year this is the position group that we say improved the most from last year (although the DB group could have something to say about that). In order for that to be true, that means a handful of guys have to step up and really improve upon last year's numbers. While that may seem like a lot of guys, I think it is possible for this group. The sophomore group of Armstrong/Wise/Williams should take big leaps with this being their second years of playing and getting bigger. Olobia and Mosby were a little bit disappointing last year, but think they should improve upon what they did last year. The nice thing is that when we need to replace some guys in the middle this year for breathers, we will have the option of doing this with some 300+ lbs guys that we just didn't have last year. A guy that could be a sleeper in this group is Jacky Dezir, who is now a couple of years removed from shoulder surgery that caused him to redshirt his second year in JUCO. Isaiah Bean could also be a wildcard. If he joined the team last year, he probably would have played as a true freshman just out of need. But if he isn't ready, we have some bodies at DE and don't have to rush the kid unless he is ready to play from day one, which if he is, even better. This group getting better is crucial because it not only makes us stronger up front, it helps out those guys in the back 7 as well.
