I have an idea to pass by the time, of which this may not work at all, but we will see how this goes. With a few months until the first game, around once a week going to try and breakdown the roster on who is leaving and who is returning for 8 different position groups then try something with those breakdowns. Add in anything I missed or your thoughts on this group this upcoming season.
So to start it off, let's take a look at CBs
RETURNING
Brandon Stewart (SR, 6' 0" 178 lbs) - 35 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 1 FF
Marnez Ogletree (SR, 5' 10" 190 lbs) - 32 tackles, 5 PBUs
Chevy Graham (SR, 5' 9" 200 lbs) - 28 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 2.0 sacks, 1 QBH
Derrick Neal (JR, 5' 10" 170 lbs) - 14 tackles, 1 INT, 2 PBUs, 1 FF
Colin Spencer (JR, 5' 10" 183 lbs) - 8 tackles, 1 fumble recovered
DeAnte Ford (FR, 5' 10" 170 lbs) - redshirted
Nathan Miller (FR, 5' 11" 176 lbs) - redshirted
LOST
Ronnie Davis (6' 0", 192 lbs) - 1 tackle
Luke Curtis (6' 0" 184 lbs) - redshirted
ADDED
Stephan Robinson (SO, 5' 11" 173 lbs)
Shola Ayinde (FR, 6' 0" 175 lbs)
Kyle Mayberry (FR, 5' 10" 175 lbs)
Julian Chandler (FR, 6' 0" 170 lbs)
Ian Peterson (FR, 5' 11" 180 lbs)
BREAKDOWN
KU doesn't lose a lot from this group, but last year's group didn't set the world on fire. But a lot of these guys were playing D1 CB for the first time so they should improve. I was a little bit surprised that Brandon Stewart didn't have any PBUs and Marnez Ogletree had 5. Neal started to come on at the end of the year and it sounds like he had a solid Spring. They have Chevy Graham and Ian Peterson (from his signing day profile) listed as CBs, but Graham primarily played S/NB last year and Peterson was primarily a S in HS last year, so will include both in the S breakdown next week. There does appear to be an opportunity for some of the new additions to play some significant minutes next year. Robinson and Ayinde getting in at semester helps them out. I am still way too high on Mayberry and expect him to make an impact as a freshman. When we look back and compare positional groups from the previous year, I think CB could be the most improved group compared to the 2015 season.
