Quit rewarding shooters who stick their legs out trying to draw fouls. Some don't even attempt to shoot the ball, they just spend more time sticking their leg out. It's ridiculous and needs to be cleaned up immediately. If a defender must remain vertical or at least close, then so should a shooter's legs. If not, call an offensive foul when they trip the defender.
