So far under Beaty, one thing that has surprised me (and that I like) is that I feel that the guys on defense are getting better recruits than that on offense. Now I do like the offensive guys and Carter Stanley is still my favorite commit/signing we have had so far, but if you compare the offer lists of the defensive guys, the defense is currently getting commits from guys with more offers.

So you can take that a number of ways, but something it has made me really curious about - is it harder to recruit defensive guys than offensive guys? What I mean buy that is is there more quality offensive recruits out there than defensive recruits, and thus these defensive recruits tend to get more offers and it tends to be more competitive to land them?

When I look at the guys we have either signed or got commits from, for the most part they seem like guys the staff has initially targeted on both sides of the ball. So I am happy with that. But being that the guys on offense they have initially targeted aren't being recruited as hard as the guys on defense, it has me thinking that it is harder to recruits these guys on defense. If true, that has me pretty encouraged going forward (as in we can get what we want on offense, but still bring in quality guys on defense if they are harder to land)...
