So I learned today about a website called Opendorse and that the University of Oregon is using it for a platform for their athletes to be contacted by a third-party for NIL transactions. I went to a link I was provided https://app.opendorse.com/shop/oregon-ducks. If you click on it, you get a listing of athletes at University of Oregon. I then searched the site in general and went to other universities. Some, if you select them, the option "professional athletes" is also added automatically, which suggests no current student athletes for that institution are available. I then entered KU, and no "professional athletes" was added to my selection. The page then populated with all kinds of KU folks from the past, as well as current student athletes such as Dujuan Harris, Devin Neal, etc. However, there is no separate link that gets you just KU student athletes like it does for Oregon. I am told that universities are looking at setting up arrangements just like Oregon to have all of their student athletes listed as a separate group for persons looking to contract with student athletes for their NIL. Kentucky and UNC also have student athletes listed with their professional and retired alumni but they do not have a separate student athlete listing.
