Well I have come down from my frustration over the weekend and apologize to any and all for letting my emotions overcome my rationality.
So in the spirit of forward progress I am curious as to how people feel we can do next season given what we have coming back.
I see real strengths: WR corps is really good; DBs are improving; DL gets gashed but looks real good at times; OL (man I just don't read the tea leaves here at all); RBs (you can always get a runner and Dom is joining); QB (I don't know what we have in the tank (Stanley moved around pretty well). Willis must really be in the doghouse and Cozart hasn't ever floated my boat.
Even more important to me is that I don't see an offensive game plan that works with the players we have. Seems to me that when you have an OL that can't run block nor provide consistent protection you have to deceive and you have to get rid of the ball much quicker than we do. Short slants, crossing patterns and hooks seem essential. I don't like the sideline bubble plays as we are probably net negative yardage for these over the season but use them regardless.
All in all I am not sure we have enough to break the 40 consecutive road loss streak next year.
Most importantly I think that DB must get a strong offensive coordinator and he must give that OC the ability to change this offense to match up to our few strengths.
