Juco targets are going to be popping up.
Joe Malanga isn't even on the Snow active roster, I have no expectations he's going to be signed by KU which is good b/c I think the right guys are on the roster right now.
Manaia Perese's stats are awful. I also don't expect him to be in Lawrence. Plus, they have Davis on board.
I still think they are looking for another juco DT. We aren't going to see Holmes or Jones again on the field. Dezir had not played in a year so he was getting into the mix of just playing but I'm not sure he has the explosiveness to contribute. That leaves DJ Williams, Daniel Wise, and I think Timmy Hamilton could end up on the inside. With 4 or 5 guys on the inside, that's scary bad. Amir Watts and Cameron Murray are names that would be great to see next to KU's signing day list.
You always need kids that can cover. Stephan Robinson is expected to be a big time immediate contributor so I would think KU has Kenny Perry hiding in his closet until he arrives on his campus of choice. The kid from NY set to visit in late January screams back up plan so I would suspect if they don't get Robinson there is at least another juco corner out there that they try to bring in before January 29th.
It's not as pressing as DT, but long term depth of DE is not great with Mosby and Olobia being seniors and the only other guy that has played a snap being Armstrong.
Bledsoe is a massive target b/c he will play immediately. I have no idea if he can stay at DE but no matter where he ends up, he'll get significant PT next year.
Back to the original point though, juco targets will surface quickly since December 16 is mid year signing day.
