-- The dead period officially ends on the 6th at noon (I believe) and from everything I've been told, the coaching staff absolutely wants to bring some guys in for visits this weekend. The names I continue to hear mentioned most are Khalif Battle, Graham Ike, Nicholas Timberlake, and Jamille Reynolds. I know the number of guys in the portal that have mentioned Kansas continues to grow. However, until guys actually start to schedule visits, it's hard to a feeling for how serious they are about Bill Self and the Jayhawks.
-- Speaking of Bill Self, I'm hoping we (media) get to chat with him the week for the first time since the day before the Big 12 Tournament started. Obviously, he'll be at the banquet later on in the week, but I'm hoping the media gets the opportunity to chat with him before then. Nothing has been scheduled and I'm not sure anything will happen, but I'm hoping.
-- I know the banker touched on it last week, but I'm also hearing that Kevin McCullar, Jr., is going to keep all of his options open before making a final decision about his future. From what I was told, the coaching staff presented him the option to return if he doesn't think he's going to land in the draft where he hopes or would like. At this time, it sounds like it's something he's at least considering right now.
-- Don't have any real update on Kyle Cuffe, Jr., but from everything I've been told, he loves it at Kansas and doesn't want to leave. Now, whether that happens or not, I've got no idea. I would have thought that if he was going to hit the portal, he would have done it last week with the rest of his teammates, but that obviously didn't happen. At this point, I've really got no idea what to expect, but from what I've gathered, he loves it at Kansas.
