Unless you are Bama and can recruit the nastiest OL which allows a pro-style offense I just think watching so many mobile QB stay ahead of the chains...and trouble. When pockets break down or blitzes get through just having a guy that squeeze through for a 4-5 yard gain is huge.

And mobile QB comes in different styles. Mayfield is a mobile QB but he does better when improvising and creating. The guy from Clemson is a true dual threat who can do so much more with design QB draws. The kid from Houston gave a very talented Florida State defense fits. They didn't handle a mobile QB well although they held Clemson in check.

I really believe having a mobile QB changes the game. Look at the Mahomes at Texas Tech. That Tech style offense never had many mobile guys but he has given their offense a different dimension.

Once in a while you get a Goff from Cal who is a true drop back QB that probably translates better to NFL scouts but he thrived in the Air Raid system under Tony Franklin which is more the old school air raid. It isn't what you are seeing from new guys air raid like Gundy, Holgorsen, Sumlin, Riley.
