I like Mitt Romney. I believe most people genuinely think he's a good man and means well. If you was a candidate for President I would definitely vote for him again but that's here or there because right now he's merely a pawn in the growing discontent amongst the establishment.

There's a large sector of the GOP that absolutely despises everything about the establishment. You have your choice to vote for Ted Cruz, who is a staunch ultra conservative who hangs on his principles, or you can vote for the progressive liberal that wants to build a wall along the Mexican border and make them pay for it in Donald Trump. Both candidates are deemed outsiders by conventional establishment criteria.

Romney's speech spoke to a large portion of the Republican Party but that portion of the Republican Party is the one that's under the most attack by those that can't stand what has become of Washington.

So what really did Mitt Romney's speech accomplish today?

For one, I think he along with many others, are making a dire attempt to open people's eyes coming down the home stretch that may be on the fence on whether to throw their support towards Trump. I really don't think it's Mitt's intentions to throw shade necessarily at a person like Ted Cruz. Cruz is a staunch conservative. For that I don't think Romney was talking about him in any form or fashion but to those who support a candidate ideologically probably share very little in common with them. Donald Trump is not a conservative.

Folks, make this country whatever they want and if that means throwing a middle finger to the establishment and going with a candidate that has no real policy set in stone, that will cater to the whim of whoever he's talking too, by all means vote for that candidate but don't come crying when he comes through with none of his promises. Donald Trump is exactly the type of politician many of his supporters despise. He's going to tell you one thing and then do another, but if you ask one of his supporters they'll tell you the man shoots it straight. It's because he has diarrhea of the mouth that excite people. That doesn't mean just because he's not afraid to be unapologetical when he speaks does not mean what he's saying holds any truth or merit.

This may be the last time we truly hear from Mitt Romney during this nomination. But if it's not, which I hope is the case, then I hope he continues to speak with compassion and purpose. I truly think he should have been the President four years ago and he's not because of his own doings down the home stretch. Probably if he spent more time attacking the Democrats the way he is Trump then he would have won.

What does everyone else think about Mitt Romney's speech is it falling on deaf ears or does his word still have merit? Those that are thinking about voting for Trump need to realize there are some really good candidates still left out there like Cruz, Rubio, or Kasich that probably won't put our country in the turmoil the way a Donald Trump presidency likely will, IMHO.

It's time to start voting with our head, not with our emotions on our sleeve.
