From what I can tell I think they will take two inside DT's and one of them is Perese. I know he's at 283 but he's played a lot of outside. My next guess is they take another and it is a high school DT. But you lose King and Fletcher. I don't expect LayTrion to play at KU.

That leaves Wise, Dezir, Williams, and Holmes as the only four scholarship players at DT. Then you add Perese. But Williams and Holmes aren't listed on the depth chart and didn't even get a snap yesterday. To me that isn't good news at all. It was a hot day and the DL was getting pushed around. For Holmes and Williams to not get their helmets on and get a series tells me they are way down.

This is going to be a process so they need to develop players, but they also need some guys who can help quicker than later. Just a couple years ago they had really good numbers on the line and bodies that could hold a line. DL are just like OL you can't drop in numbers.

I'm not pointing fingers because Beaty/staff are dealing with what they were dealt. I'm assuming King will be on scholie and he started yesterday. I can't think what depth would be without adding him.

They are going to need more numbers up front. The LayTrion situation and Andrew Bolton leaving put them behind the eight ball. Dezir just arrived in the spring and Williams and Wise are redshirt freshmen. Those guys need to be developed. But they are going to need help along the way. It seems like only at KU are you always asking freshmen to step up and fill holes because there are always holes.

They are going to have to play and get better but kids can only develop so fast.
