This has been mentioned a couple of time and if you watch the videos of practice, you can see the QBs getting mental reps, like working through progressions, reads and identifying a defenses while standing behind the play.

Miles just mentioned mental reps as well and that got me thinking. In concept, I like it. As a player, you're always kind of taking mental reps, but it seems like the coaches are actively emphasizing mental reps for the players to stay engaged and try to help learn things faster.

My question is (mostly just for discussion) does it work? I mean, I understand that with a team like KU, emphasizing and working on the little things will really help us. I know it can't hurt, but essentially are there specific example where we've seen a better improvement with a player because of things like mental reps.

Again, this isn't criticism or anything, just curious if there are others thoughts or opinions about the benefits of mental reps.
