Let's start with LBs and work through the secondary later, of which if there are some prospects at any of these spots for 2017 that you think are intriguing definitely post them.
Compared to the DL, I think there are a lot more prospects in the local areas relatively speaking. Only went through prospects in KS, MO, OK, TX, and IL and came away with several names of guys that I think have a shot. Combine that with I think some of the guys we have already offered are really good, I have a good feeling that KU will land some quality guys at this spot in the 2017 class.
Of the guys they have already offered, I think we have a decent shot with Levi Jones and Kenneth Murray (who was initially listed as a safety - if we got these two guys I would be incredibly happy and think we could call it a year with those two guys at the LB spot. In one of the articles I was reading, it sounds like KU has offered Terrel Barnard, but it isn't in the database...either way he is another guy that if KU could/would land I would he happy with. So let's go into some guys not listed as having offers from KU...
LOCAL GUYS THAT ARE BORDERLINE GUYS
I like these two prospects, but think there are some other guys ahead of them that I would go after instead...but do think these guys have a chance to be solid
Chance May - also plays QB for Rockhurst, athletic guy who has a knack for making plays...his clips...
Jay Dineen (no rivals profile) - I wish he was just a touch faster, but think he is really solid between the tackles...his clips...
SOME INTERESTING LB PROSPECTS
Dimitri Moore - brother of Richard Moore at Texas A&M that Beaty recruited hard, teammates of several Cedar Hills kids I hope we have a shot at, and also has a great long frame for that LB spot where I don't think we have seen his best football yet...his clips...
Isaiah Nelson - 6' 3" 210 lbs kid who is very active and has a knack for making plays behind the LOS...his clips...
Kyrei Fisher - another kid with a great frame and plays at a great HS in Tulsa Union, plays well in space...his clips...
Cade Mashburn - a smash mouth kind of guy that I think is better up the middle than outside but plays with soem strengh...his clips...
Maciah Amodiran - shows some spurts of athleticism at the LB spot that you like to see...his clips...
John Brannon - similar to Cade Mashburn, more of an up the middle guy but shows some signs of being able to hold down the fort at the MIKE spot...his clips...
Caden McDonald - another 6' 3" kid that plays at the same HS that Emmanuel Moore did, would like to see him be a touch faster but even then he still shows some great range on the outside...his clips...
Daunte McGee - great frame on the kid and plays safety and WR in his clips, one of those guys like an Isaiah Simmons/Justin McCay but not quite as athletic but a is a guy you can see potential in because of that size/athleticism combo...his clips...
