Any guys on offense from the 2017 class you think will be pretty solid?
Starting with QBs, there are two things to note. Look at the QBs KU has offered since Beaty has been here. They have all been dual threat guys. I think that continues while he is here. Now note that just because a guy is listed as a pro style doesn't mean he can't run (one of the guys I am going to list is a pro style guy according to rivals). The other thing is that the only QB KU has offered that isn't committed anywhere is Avery Davis, but I am guessing Notre Dame will be hard to beat out here.
Sticking with the three guys I have mentioned a few times. I really think any one of these guys could put up some numbers in our offense in the future...
Jason Shelley - he isn't the biggest guy in the world, he doesn't have the strongest arm, and he isn't the fastest...but this kid reminds me some of Reesing. His production was incredible this past year - over 3700 yards passing and over 1600 yards rushing. 60 total TDs. The touch on his passes is incredible. And he shows an ability to escape pressure...I think this kid could put up monster numbers in college...
Jaylen Gipson - every time I watch this kid I just think he is the kind of guy that you know would efficiently run the offense. I don't think he has superstar NFL type things that jump out at you...but he can run...he can throw...he can make quick decisions. He just seems like a steady guy that will move the chains. I do worry he could be Tech's future QB though
Ty Brock - if he hadn't broken his leg before last season I think he would have a ton of offers. I think he is a guy most are waiting to see if he recovers well before offering. So it would be risky offering right now, but could pay off. Although a pro style guy and again considering his injury, in his sophomore stuff he showed he was capable of running the ball. Could also help with hype if KU can say they landed a 4 star QB early on
