Going back to the 2022 season. This was the breakout season. The one nobody expected. No way it would happen in Leipold's first season.

Except the team.

Us fans were so beaten down that only the pure optimists believed things would turn around like that (There was a good number). KU played OU close and looked like a victory was, just a matter of picking up your keys from the table next to the door, on your way out. Then Caleb Williams happened. It was possibly the #1 Draft pick's, quintessential moment (he had a lot of them).

After that game there was a standing ovation. Was it at Hawk Talk, or after the game? What matters is the comment that made us all believe. He told his wife Kelly the story and stated; They gave a standing ovation for playing close, that has to change.

It did change. People saw the team not only deserved to win that game, but that the team actually BELIVED they SHOULD HAVE WON. People saw the team was completely bought in and us fans started too. It feels like a distant memory of a time gone by.

Something needs to change and it's between the ears of every fan and each member of the team and staff. We need the mojo back. The program needs a leader to step up and bring it back. It doesn't matter whether it's Goff, Lance, Devin, Jalon, Cobee...****ing Rudy. It just needs to be somebody.

This is the "New Era". The program needs to be that new era, because it's not over.
