I'm glad I was able to watch the game in person today. KU is a much improved team. Yea we make to many mistakes still but today they were just fluke plays. On the first Int the DL got on the field late and was still down when everyone else moves on the snap. When Cozzy looks to the WR the DL wasn't there. He comes out of his stance late and is lost so he steps back and it just happened to be in the passing lane. On the second one that was all on Quiv. Cozzy played a good game today and enough to help us win. I was the first to jump on him I even started a thread but I can see today why he plays over Willis. Cozzy RUNS the offense. You can just see he gets the ball out of his hand to the players its entended for. If its not there he looks for his second third and forth read. I watch some of the last game again against Baylor, Willis isn't running the offense. You can see him just looking at one Wr, not reading the DBs and only playing one side of the field. Thats why he has so many Int. The offense ran much more balanced today. Now don't get me wrong we need to bring in a Juco QB IMO.
Defensively our D is playing better than MOST in the Big 12. Those dudes balled today I dont care what the score said. The offense left them with a short field 2 or 3 times today. Our issues on D is when the play breaks down we lose our guy in the QB scrabble. We play the run well but could improve in pass coverage. Like I said in another thread Fish and Armstrong are beast and can play anywhere in the conference. Another guy on the line O think 96 or 98 stood his guy up all game and pushed him in the backfield constantly.
I know we say it every year but KU is improving and give then next year and we will start seeing the benefits. This team is best its been in 3-4 years.
